This CRV didn't fare to well... It's at about the 1:00 min mark where the carnage begins. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5FLUkaySEY8]Nordschleife - Karfreitag - Touristenfahrten/ mehrfacher Überschlag - YouTube[/ame]
Wtf is wrong with people? I'll just drive the ring in my cr-v with my tall a$$ tires and I'll drive like a maniac! Really? Epic Fail!
Yep SUV's are safe. Lots of folks believe that.ut: They do that stuff on the road too. Hope they walked away a bit wiser for their misadventure.
Lucky for them. There's a reason my MINI doesn't go muddin, and there's a reason my Wrangler will never see the racetrack.....
The Ring is a public road... you will see everything from fully prepped race cars to daily drivers to tour busses (and the occasional lap by Sabine Schmit in a Ford Transit van).
Why the hell did it look like a week's worth of fast food wrappers explode out of it is what I want to know???????? :confused5:
It's not just about taking the right car to the 'Ring, lack of skill and/or poor judgement spoiled that guy's day. Drive the CR-V or that big pickup or even a Transit Van at the appropriate speed for the vehicle and your skill level and you'll survive just fine (same on any track or road). You'll piss off a lot of people who get stuck behind you but you'll be able to drive home.
The one good thing... that SUV flipped over the barrier instead of crashing into it. Each driver is personally responsible for any damage that they do to the track barriers... if he had hit the barrier, he might have wound up with an extra $10k or so of repair expenses. :ED
Well at least now maybe they can get a Countryman I'm sure it will handle the corners better than the CRV can or will.
I lvoe the comment by the 'ring guard at the end... "...Scheisse...." Looks like the CRV driver simply ran out of skill.
