We’ve seen glimpses of the interior before but none quite like this. Snapped by a Reddit user what we see above is a full view of the base F556 interior. When we say base we’re specifically referring to one of the two sizes of LCD screen that will likely prevalent on most MINIs sold. What [...] (visit MotoringFile for the full article) More...
Not really loving the mix of Round and Angular shapes on the dash. They should all be angular or all round. Those air vents should be round OR the center Dash bit should be vaguely triangular. Something doesn't look quite right in there... the driver side mounted outside vent is rounded... They shouldn't be mixing up the shapes of the vents either. Something tells me that this isn't a fully finished off dash setup, other elements in it look a little rough and unfinished with gaps where there shouldn't really be any gaps.
I am very confused when I look at the design, I do not see any clear design vocabulary in this...it is way too mismatched. I think the climate control knobs are horrendous. The stupid indents in the rings make it look even cheaper. Granted this is the cheapest trim but the design will all be relatively the same I presume. I'm hoping the addition trims look a lot better.
That is the thing that strikes me too. Square pegs in round holes?? I'm still crossing my fingers. :fingerscrossed: I'm wondering if the square bits will be common to the BMW dash.
That ugly infotainment center looks like the thing tweaky / twiki wore around his neck in the Buck Rogers tv show.:lol::lol::lol::lol:
Nobody's commented about this bit: Presumably BMW thought that the existing colour-changing 'mood' lighting wasn't tasteless/cheesy enough, and they thought "nobody can do tasteless as well as us...."?
The departure of the center speedo on the third gen MINI can only be summarized by a phrase in a BB King song--"the thrill is gone".
I am sorry to say it but the new MINIs are beginning to look more like the parent companies boring mass produced BMWs and less like the unique little niche car that a lot of us we're drawn too less than 10 years ago.
