Next weekend should be a time to stay home around here. This conference will be held at Camp David (20 miles from here). Every hotel is booked (China is taking over all the hotels in Gettysburg. Go figure). State Department is taking over FEMA (5 miles away) and the media will everywhere they can find a spot to stand. Then add the protests that are planned within a 40 mile area and you have a real mess. Schools and colleges, in the area, have already planned to close on Friday. What a stupid place to have this. :mad2: Jim
Just think about all of the revenue that will be generated in your area. That will help your local economy. So maybe you can take a nice road trip outta town and show off your killer JUSTA. Make all the fiat drivers jealous, or could be a good weekend to get her polished and waxed.
I hear ya Jim, we're about 10 miles from Camp David...since it's in a fairly remote area that is going to be very heavily restricted, no one really knows where the protests will be at this point. One thing fur shur, we will have heavy air cover next week!
Yeah I saw Marine One and entourage fly over our shop earlier this week, I figured the POTUS sent Joe Biden up there to check on the toilet paper situation in the latrines.
This thing is really getting funny. Yesterday my wife was driving on to Ft Detrick and there were all these guys in "black suits" hanging around the main gate. On the way home she saw about ten "black SUVs" zooming around town. Wounder who they were?????? They might as well wear uniforms, because the covert, civilian cloths thing is NOT working.:lol: I'll bet Cooperation has been working round the clock making G8 tee shirts? Jim
Damn, now there's a memory...I applied for a job there one summer, got an interview and a tour but I guess I wasn't geeky enough for them. They had a wooden space simulator there that looked like a chicken coop...were you a Camp Comet camper, Nathan?
My brother was, I was there once on visiting weekend. My parents would ship me off for 8 weeks every summer to Camp Wigwam in Maine. They wanted my brother closer to home. I drove by Camp Comet a heck of lot. We lived in Northern Baltimore County for quite a while and I went to school in Mercersburg. We'd drive out 140 in MD to 16 in PA taking me back and forth to school. Dad was fond of the back way instead of using 70.
Ah yeah, I had a few friends that got in a bunch of trouble at, uh I mean attended Mercersburg Academy...good school!
