I like it top up, top down and everything else about it. That will be my next MINI, with no question. :drool Jim
Suspect stock JCW exhaust, N14 JCW engine and sport suspension in this example. Nice looking Roadster with a very flat ride in the video. Now if it is the N18 JCW prototype engine, that would be much better. :biggrin5:
Checked with realoem.... the R58 (coupe) has the same as existing exhaust. Would bet the roadster is the same parts bin selection..... I't appears to be the standard "S" exhaust..... But I bet MINI advert stuck the microphone up next to the "noise maker"....
Full marks for a really fast hood drop at 1:02 while moving - though the windows were already down. I wonder if there is anything to stop one doing this at speed (I once ripped the roof of a Citroen 2CV trying to open it at speed, so I'm dumb enough...). But then this may not apply to me as I'm in Britain and the press reports here say that we are getting a "semi-automatic" not a manual Roadster top, whatever that means.
Of course we know you would never stoop so low as to own an 'S' model. I has to be a 'Justa-Roadster' for you. Right?!?!
Very nice This is definitely getting a look by us :drool Trade in her 09. Like that new white also, looks kind silvery at times. Either that guy doesn't know when to shift, or they really overdubbed some bad shifting sounds? Actually didn't like the exhaust note at times:confused5: Sounded really hollow at times, like an old S10 pickup :arf: I'm sure it was just the recording
Let's start a rumor. I understand the N18 JCW engine with all the beef will put out 240HP and about 220 TQ. This will be available per the RM in the fall of 2012 or early 2013. It will be a reworked N18, per the voices I have been hearing. :fingerscrossed: old81 (Don)
And it will have pre-injectors that lightly wash the intake valves with a fine fuel mist, solving the carbon problem forever.
Rumors like this is why I'm waiting. They will have the "S" perfected by the time I buy one. Jim
They are getting closer every year. You folks can look at yourselves as pioneers. The test drivers who weathered the hard ships, modded your cars and put the miles on the "S", in all kinds of conditions, pointing out the problems and leading the engineers to solve them. Well, you only did it during the warm, pleasant summer months MM, but it was still a help to the team. Jim
