Up for sale is a replica of the infamous Twini Mini, the dual-engined classic Mini (actually there were several Twini Minis) from the 1960s. The recipe was simple: Take a classic Mini, then add a second engine and put it in the boot.

John Cooper (yes, that John Cooper) was nearly killed when the Twini Mini he was driving suffered a failure and he crashed heavily in London. This replica is said to be have been built from a genuine Cooper S and I'm sure with double the power it is entertaining to drive.

See photos of the car for sale here: https://www.silverstoneauctions.com/1965-austin-mini-cooper-s-1275cc-mk-i---twini

Here's the sales pitch from the auction house:

Yeah, I saw that on one of his shows. But I get the feeling (and I've seen it plenty of times on his show) that he doesn't seem to hold on to anything he buys very long at all before it is out the door.

I'm pretty sure that the basic shape being an R53 does NOT classify it as an R53... :nonod:

I totally see the point though. Add a bunch of extra weight to a car that handles well because it's a light-weight, then over-power it! Oh wait.....

Man..... Am I glad it wasn't done to a R56...

Dave.0 would have been pumping way more vitriol....:D

This will ease some of the hurt.... Play it all the way through to the end for real mellowness...
