Engine Drivetrain 1st Gen Cooper S Timing chain rattle with less than 500 miles

    Hi mini gurus, recently rebuilt a n14b16 r55 with bad piston on 4. Reluctantly replaced timing components with factory timing chain , tensioner, and casette guides. Now less than 500 miles rattle is back, i checked if the chain stretched even though it had only less than 500 on it, it did not. I next logical part to blame is the tensioner.

    Its logical to change the tensioner only correct? Im planning to install an aftermarket longer tensioner. What do you guys think?
