I have a 20†tool box that I take when off-roading in my Jeep. It is packed and I mean PACKED with SAE and Metric sockets and wrenches as well as screwdrivers, pliers, pry bar, zip ties, metal exhaust hanging strap, fuses, etc – you get the idea. Last year at MOTD, there was a need for a few tools on one of the runs and I did not have mine as I had not wanted to lug a box that big and heavy. Looking to downsize for MINI events, I bought a Sears Compact Truck Box. Now: What to stock? In the Honda and VW world, I have a pretty good idea of the common sizes I need for wrenches and sockets, but am a neophyte on the MINI – it hasn’t failed and has not required much in the way of wrenching so far. What size wrenches and sockets should I carry? Thinking 8, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17, and 19. Looking to be able to cover 1st and 2nd Gen as well as Countryman/Paceman. Am I even close?
Thanks. Have those tossed in for fun as well. Needed a 55 torx one time on the Jeep – that was fun. Have Torx sockets in 3/8 drive: 15, 20, 25, 30, 40, 45, and 50 – overkill :confused5:
