Sorry for the short notice Wed evening 1/25/12 @ 9PM there will be a piece shot on the Dragon the program is called " Hell Roads " and will air on the Discovery Channel Set your DVR's
Watched it last night and it was a cool show. Unfortunately, my wife watched it with me and kept shooting me disapproving looks during the Dragon section (I'm going to MOTD for the first time this year).
Heh Heh Heh.... Is she going with you? If so, bring some of those little "sea sick" pills for her and make sure the passenger "Grab Handle" is fully functional..... Oh, and set up the Go Pro camera facing the passenger seat......
MM, she's not going with me. She likes driving twisty roads, but is not a fan of riding on twisty roads.
My wife.... and the dog got mucho dizzy on the Dragon...... Took the dog about 4 days to return to normal.... Dog won't be back....
My wife watched it also, has been there already and said it didn't really show the intensity of the road The regular person watching it would think we're all crazy , oh yea that's right we are......
I should have it on the DVR, but I think that I'll watch it by myself... I always behave pretty well when I'm on the Dragon and surrounding roads and I take driving there seriously (don't do it while tired, etc). I always feel safer as, while there for MOTD, I'm surrounded by 500 of my closest friends!
It was a pretty good piece, did anyone notice the MINI that just about got crushed by the big rig, also same show different segment where the bus full with passengers had to back up 15 miles because he could not make the turn, if I were a passenger I believe I would get out and walk back....
It's a deadly death road where you might die a gruesome deadly death! I just watched the clip on my DVR. What a huge crock. That was the most sensationalized, one-sided bit of pseudo-journalism that I've ever seen. Yes, there have been 20 deaths on the road since 1990. Yes it is a dangerous road. Where do they talk about the thousands who safely drive the road every day? Where do they talk about the beauty of the area and the attraction of the road other than for daredevils and thrill seekers? Where do they talk about people driving from across the country to experience the road and the PEOPLE who come together around it?
