The Director General of the BBC, Mark Thompson was called on the carpet by Parliament after Clarkson in how own inimitable style mentioned that striking public sector workers should be shot in front of their families.

The UK's Guardian and Telegraph reported that Parliament wants Jezza kicked to the kerb. 32,000 sent the BBC complaints after the last comments. The BBC Boss countered that far more people would be upset to see Jezza leave.

When a Parliament member suggested Clarkson is a luxury the BBC can't afford, Thompson stuck back with a comment that Clarkson is currently on the UK's chief cultural export.

BTW, the Top Gear Christmas Special, where the boys attack India will air on the BBC on Wen, Dec 28. Look for it here later that night.
