Well, he attempted it, and uhh – it didn't go so well. Apart from some minor injuries, Chicherit is doing fine, but no word on whether he’ll give the record another go.
To be fair, he more than made the distance...the landing didn't go so well. He walked away under his own power, had only minor injuries and was cleared later after a precautionary MRI.
Any landing you can walk away from is a good one. No worries it will buff right out. Glad Darwin didn't give him the award.
That's one of the big problems I had with the second Italian Job movie - when the three MINIs come roaring out of the tunnel and make that jump, they land nose down, some of them almost vertical/nose down - that would not have happened with 2800lbs of gold in the boot! Everyone knows what happens to a nose heavy car in flight......
The rest of the story. Wow! [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HWOANXNGrZc"]GoPro: Longest Jump Story - YouTube[/ame]
Good point, people just dont learn from other peoples' mistakes! I am surprised he doesn't have arm restraints, if he had been knocked out after the initial impact who knows where they would have ended up, he did a great job keeping them tucked in though. Hope his second attempt goes better.
It really isn't about the weight distribution, but rather the dynamics of the car. If you are on the gas the car will tend to fly level to nose up. Off the gas it will bring the nose down. At least that has been my experience & this guy named Colin agrees. [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVaqcbBWpI4"]WRC - Colin McRae - Jump Lessons - YouTube[/ame]
