so i have this horrible noise coming from the front passenger(us) side of the car when im driving. it starts up at 30mph and sounds horrible after that. it almost sounds like i need to shift but thats not it. here is a video if it helps. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7z_0ctOf6zU&list=UUsujQ-vXfST_e_AOfyKQaPQ&index=1]GOPR0320 - YouTube[/ame] it makes noise except when going right which i find weird as well. do any if you have an idea of what to check or what it may be?
It's a brand new race axle from way with less than 1000 miles on it so I hope it's not it. Is there another way to check to see if it is?
Your wheel bearing is bad. I can't hear from the vid, but the tell-tale is what you said about the sound going away while turning right, and the noise becoming apparent at higher speeds.
I don't think it is your axle. My money is on Eric, wheel bearing. Turning puts a load on the bearing & make the noise go away or change.
^^**What Eric and Dave said... I had the same noise and a new wheel bearing fixed the problem. Thanks again Eric (and Mike) for the swift repair service!
