it makes noise except when going right which i find weird as well.

Could be the axle is bad. Had to change out the right front axle on my 03 last year.

It's a brand new race axle from way with less than 1000 miles on it so I hope it's not it. Is there another way to check to see if it is?

Your wheel bearing is bad. I can't hear from the vid, but the tell-tale is what you said about the sound going away while turning right, and the noise becoming apparent at higher speeds.

I don't think it is your axle. My money is on Eric, wheel bearing. Turning puts a load on the bearing & make the noise go away or change.

^^^^ Yup, Eric is right. This was the same problem I had and new wheel bearings fixed it.

Is there a way to verify before I rip the car apart?

^^**What Eric and Dave said... I had the same noise and a new wheel bearing fixed the problem. Thanks again Eric (and Mike) for the swift repair service!
