In an effort to learn my surroundings and get out to enjoy a sunny Sunday afternoon I went for a drive. Someone pointed me towards the Logan area. Pulled up the Central Ohio region on a Great Motorcycle Roads site and found Clear Creek Rd. Set my sights out for that and figured I'd wander the area afterwards. Clear Creek Rd was fun, there is a big rock that leans over the road at one point. Going past the parking area is a bad idea in a lowered stiffly spring anything so I doubled back and hit 33 going SE again. Needed some gas so pulled into Logan. With a choice of Walmart spot market swill and 92 octane from a place deep in the heart of downtown Logan I hit the nav to see where there was gas. A BP and Sunoco were both about 12 miles so I hit go. What I did not expect is the route took me North on 664 to Breman. With a full tank of Sunoco finest 93 octane juice I keep going North on 664 to see where it went. The road to Rushville was decent, not as many curves or elevation changes as the 10 miles from Logan to Breman. North of Rushville it got flatter and much more straight. With a 55 mph speed limit and a nice day it was still great to drive on that section. Unlike TX the scenery does change and there is some roll in the land. All in all it was great to get out, open the windows and cruise around.
Nathan, that's my old stomping grounds. Born and raised in Lancaster and drank a lot of beer on those roads (back on the day...40 years ago)
Nice to see you're exploring your new surroundings. Ohio has many a wonderful road. You will not get bored driving here. My tip is head SE toward the river, wonderful roads there. If you come on Riverrun you will be treated to some of the best.
It'll be fine.... Just keep driving forward and you'll be OK..... Don't do the Riverrun only in reverse.
He needs one of the G4 wing extensions. I can't believe how that thing keeps the boot hatch clean, the window clear and adds down force at the same time. Jim
I guessed that. The GP Style wing Joel had the mock up for was sweet. I remember you really like that style. Jim
Thanks, Nathan for writing about your adventures and especially for including the motorcycleroads.us link. I've done some major exploring on that site and have found several of our favorite 'wind in your hair' day trips listed. That link might be worthy of sticky status.
