This will be my first year. I see so many great events, but nothing that explains what they are! Will there be a better explanation of each event available soon?

:cornut: Please list some of the events that you might be interested in and one of us Miniacs will provide a small synopsis or point you in the right direction.

I'd like to know more about....

    Brewery Drive and Lunch
    Brewswap
    Burger Run
    Ziplines (cost?)
    Zorbin? What is that?
    Cherohala? What is that?

Are any of the dragon runs more "spirited" than others?

Once registration is open there will be access to a Schedule page that you can find all the events listed on. Clicking the event will bring more details about that event.

This is all hidden on the MOTD site right now. It will be open for all to see very soon..Like on Saturday morning. Here are the details on the Magical Mystery Burger Run.

Here is more on the Cherohala Skyway, mile high legend from Robbinsville NC to Tellico Plains TN

Smalls, I can tell you that if you are considering going you need to make reservations NOW !!! Fontana ( the host venue ) is booked, you can put your name on the wait list or might be able to bunk with someone that already has reservations.

I personally like staying in Robbinsville, I like the drive back and forth, and there is a large contingent that stays at the Microtel, last year there were 60 MINIs or so there. The area has a few more smaller motels scattered about.

I already have the Microtel reserved

    Thank you.

One thing, I want to do Cherohala Dinner and the Brewery Drive and lunch on Thursday. Will I be able to make it? The times overlap one hour.

My guess is that you'll need to choose one or the other. Drives usually leave on time and since you're a newbie, I don't recommend that you try to catch up to a group that's an hour ahead of you. You can always come back in 2013 to do the drive you missed.
Google zorbing for more info. on what it is.
Cherohala is a road that offers(if the weather is clear) sweeping vistas, and a really fun drive. I'm hosting a Friday drive at 10AM and there are still 10 spaces left.
    Hope this helps a little.

There's also a Brewery drive on Friday, so if you're still there, you can take that one and not have the conflict. It leaves shortly after the return from the Parade.

You can always drive it on your own or get with a group of people and go.

An alternative is to drive it on the in or out. Instead of the most direct route that would bring you in across the Dragon drop down onto I75 off I40 and exit in Sweetwater. When you get to Madisonville keep going strait towards Tellico Plains and then across the Skyway.

Don't overlook MITO next Oct. It will be in Eureka Springs. MO and AK have some of the best back roads in the country. My sister lives in Columbia and we enjoy taking the alphabet soup route over and back. It's never the same drive twice.

One handy website you should add to your favorites is

Oh I won't miss it this year. I didn't see it in time last year. My background is on motorcycles, so I've been through Eureka Springs and the Ozark roads many times. I'll def. make it this year.

We've been looking at going to MITO this year, of course depending on vacation time. It looks like there are some great roads up there.

Oh, and for reference, Arkansas is AR. AK is Alaska!

So, does that mean I've gotta give my mail bag back to Cliff?

Haha! Either that, or MITO has the longest "day drives" ever!!
