I've had my '06 MCSC since new and over the weekend saw this indicator light combo for the first time:
ABS + DSC + low tire pressure

It's happened twice, and each time I:
    1. pulled over and switched the car off,
    2. started the car and saw the three lights stay lit after the Power On Start-up Test,
    3. began to drive the car and saw the three lights go out, followed by trouble free driving.

The two occurrences happened about 24 hours apart during some very humid weather here in Southeastern Michigan.

Anyone else see this light combination and know its meaning?

:cornut: My Margi is an R56 but the only time that strange electrical warning lights started coming up, the battery was going out.

It's most likely a wheel speed (aka ABS) sensor. It's common for them to go and they're easy to replace. You'll have to find someone with access to the proper equipment beyond a typical OBD II reader to find out which one is bad.

That's known as the MINI Trifecta.

First, check the fuses, make sure they are all seated well. Otherwise ti may be a wheel speed sensor as mentioned above.

As said, most common cause of the trifecta is a flaky wheel speed sensor.

When mine have acted up intermittently in the past, I've found that pulling them out of the hub, cleaning them and reinstalling, as well as unplugging and replugging the connectors to ensure a good electrical connection, has cleared things up for a LONG time (like, for years) without the need to replace them.

Thank you all for the thoughtful replies.

I've got a Bently manual at home; does it provide sufficient info to locate/identify these sensors? If I can find them, I can pull'em, clean'em and put'em back in.

This site and its members truly rock!

Number 2 in the image below is the Wheel Speed Sensor. It slips into the back of the hub.

I'm having this exact same issue. Trifecta came on then went away after ignition cycle and then came back but with a SES light as well. Throwing P0700 and P1776 which are TCM unit codes. I'm wondering if the codes are related to the wheel speed sensor? My trans as some of you know was replaced under warranty due to failure at 80K so I'm doubtful it's that.

P1776 is left front wheel speed sensor code. Not sure about P0700

P0700 is an informational code only. It doesn't point to a direct fault in the engine, only a general fault in the transmission.

That's right - I've seen that before. I've seen it a time or two - sometimes it will pop up with the wheel sensor issue - because the transmission computer can't get a good torque estimate with the wheel speed sensor not working, or something like that.

Hey Blimey, I saw your other thread where you had the wheel speed sensor as well. Any tips on trying to clean them pre-replacement. My other question would be, how can I reset the codes after I get them working properly?

Cleaning: Remove the wheel. Look back behind the rotor, you'll see the sensor wire with the sensor bolted to the top of the steering knuckle. Remove the bolt and pull out the sensor. Depending on how dirty it looks, just wipe it down, or spray a little brake parts cleaner on a rag and wipe it down (DON'T spray it directly). Then re-install. If this doesn't do the trick, you can also remove the wheel well liner and trace the wire to where it plugs into the car harness. Unplug it, spray both sides of the contacts with electrical contact cleaner, put a little dielectric grease on the o-rings, re-connect and reassemble.

The Trifecta will clear itself after a power cycle or two. The codes probably will also. Otherwise you can clear with any code reader that clears codes (after the problem is fixed, otherwise they'll be persistent).

Blimey, thanks! Is it common for the SES to come on with this issue? I'm just a little worried that the trans is acting up again.

I don't think the SES typically comes on with the trifecta. But I've thrown some trans codes in the past and they self-resolved.
