I was reading an article that went with some spy shots of the new Mustang GT350 where the comment about the hood scoop was that it must have a forced induction motor. I thought why does a hod scoop mean it must have forced induction? Then it came to me. These guys have grown up in a world where all cars with hood scoops have intercoolers under the scoops. They need to go to some Good Guys shows to see what hood scoops were originally for.
Yeah, what is it with these writers? The Mustang hood scoop is nonfunctional! Just like 2nd and 3rd gen MINI.
Nah.... It functions.... It's an air scoop scooping air in the 2nd & 3rd gen... The plate that keeps birds out has little holes in it... So yeah.... It's functional...
Under 25-30 year olds have no clue anything. Hell they do not even know anything about life before: the Internet, Color TV, Cell and Cordless phones, or what belts are for. They don't even remember when this planet had 3 moons and the rebellion came and used the force to defeat the evil empire and blow up the death star. NOW GET OFF MY LAWN!
It's to bring cold air in so the glowing red turbo doesn't combust. If the scoop has scooped birds this is more likely, but heck man roasted bird. Yum.... :drool
In my day you bought your hood scoop at AutoZone and stuck it on with double sided tape ....And we liked that way...............
Remember when Manny one of the Pep-Boys smoked a cigar???? They even gave away matches. Manny even had a little Hitler mustache. Ahhh remember the days before everything had to be politically correct.
I bought many engine rebuild kits for VW air cooled engines. Great prices, most parts came out of Brazil as I recall.
