So on Thursday my wife took her dads Paceman in for service. Routine free oil change and his check engine light was on. After about an hour and a half they come out to let her now that it needs to remain with them cause a wheel speed sensor is out. Friday they call her and tell her they have to order the part from Germany!!!!!??????
:cornut: Rick just reminded me of a story that I've told before but it bares repeating. Summer 2008 and MINI Margi(08 R56 MCS/JCWm) is 6mos old. I take her to the dealer for routine maintenance and mention the up/down window problem that early R56's had. They say that reprograming the computer will fix the problem. So they attempt to reprogram my JCW with a MCS program:yikes::crazy::eek6: and put the car into permanent undrivable limp mode. Attempting to keep it top secret from management, they tell me to come back in a week. One week later I return and I'm told that they don't know when it will be fixed. By now I'm:mad2::mad5::incazzato: and am loud enough to attract the attention of the general manager. Just as I'm about to throw him through the show room window he says that this is the first that he's heard of it and he'll get this fixed and he does, over the next 7wks. The JCW computer program in the R56 was originally considered unbreakable and any problems with it had to go from dealer to MINI USA to MINI UK to BMW Germany and back again due to fear of hackers. It was a total of 2mos before I got my JCW programed R56 back and the dealership got a new Service Shop Supervisor. True Story and the kind of R56 story that Dave.O just loves to hear.:lol::lol::lol: Jason
It's better than waiting for the part to come from China. I'm really surprised they do not have one in stock in North America???
Usually when it is keeping a car off the road they will fly the part over. Check with your service adviser, if need be go to the service manager.
