This sad seen (sic) was captured by reader Mike Schiml today as the convoy west on I290 outside of Chicago. There’s no word on whether this was the result of a mechanical issue, lack of fuel or simply needing to transport the two long distances. However one thing is clear. The message is a little less compelling in this configuration. Unless of course this has become an add for a towing company. Source - MotortingFile I might add that in talking to a MINI product manager at the MINI Superbowl Bootgate party last week here in Dallas that person mentioned that there are two of these combos floating around the US right now. There was to be one in Dallas but the weather caused issues getting it here. That person also said these cannot be transported on normal car carriers due to the height and they are flatbedded around as needed.
Hehe, I'm sure that there are local ordinances that prevent that kind of vehicle from being lawfully driven on the public roads. Then again, they let people own and drive Yukons on the roads. They're much bigger and more of a hazard to the public than a Countryman wearing a Mini hat.
I say that it is being transported. If it had broke down the Countryman would be covered in gray winter road puke just like the tow truck is. You're not driving anything clean on the roads of Chicago this winter. :nonod:
