If you arrive at the decision to replace an engine, where do you purchase it?

What if your not working with a dealership.

Good used motors are available from various places locally....USUSLLY with a warrenty...most usually suggest getting one with similar miles...
If you are Going new...be aware the car will be worth more to you than anybody else due the tremendous cost of a NEW vs "used".....any performance mods?! RMW and waymotorworks both HAVR some nice upgrades if you want to "have one built", depending on the model...
Make and model does make a HUGE difference.....
Let's face it...so many gen2 have blown...there is a cottage industry in rebuilding them....places from mini mania (think $$$) to various others.....
New you can get them cheaper from 3rd parties who give you some of the wholesale discount mini gives independant shops....let's face it...you can order one at the parts counter....or get one from the shop a block away for a 5-15% discount....heck a dealer might give you a few $$ off if you ask...
