MINI has been sitting for awhile. We took it out to get serviced today and 4 mice ran out of it. When going up the road something dripped from the overhead switches. When I got home I tore into it to find this nest. I wonder where all of this came from. Pretty bad.
My guess would be from under the carpet. Looks like the remains of insulation. Mice can do lots of damage. Hope that is all they have done. I'd say drive the car more & get a watch cat.
+1 on the watch cat, also check the insulation blanket under the bonnet, they love to use that stuff!

Had a car at the shop many years ago that developed a miss after it was painted. Come to fin out, mice had chewed trough two plug wires. Still one of the oddest things I've seen!
