Guys... can R56S owners that had the HPFP replaced, tell me what problems did they notice on their mini and had to check go for replacing it?
Did anyone have a CEL and the P2187 error?

Mine got hard to start and would sputter for a half minute or so. Sometimes the CEL would come on but then clear itself once things righted themselves. Sorry, I don't know what code it was throwing.

Mine stumbled a bit on acceleration..right out of the gate. Dealer replaced immediately and 30k miles later (car has 32K on it) still no problems.

    Thanx for the info, but
1.what do you mean right out of the gate?
2.Can you be more detailed on the acceleration stumbling issue?

My '08 Cooper S is going to the dealership in the morning. Over the last week I've had the sputtering on cold startup five times. The last 2 times I've gotten a yellow CEL. Code is p3091- fuel pressure at fuel rail under the minimum. I'm betting that it's the hpfp. Mileage is 32k.

Is it possible that an erratic idle could be a symptom that it's starting to become a problem? No CEL on, no vacuum leaks, etc.
