..only available on certain models? For example: I tried to build a solid black Coupe S, with red trimmed seats, red color line, red dash and red stripes. They are all available (except for roof stripes, which are not offered at all), but ONLY on a JCW. These are common color combinations and should not JCW only. At the dealer, we saw two CM's with navy blue sports stripes, but no an option for them when building the car. what is up with all this? ut: Jim
:cornut:I don't know. Both the car and the company are quirky but only the car is lovable. In the past when I've asked questions like this, I was told:"welcome to the world of MINI." Jason
True, how can you "build your own" if you cannot choose everything you want? They are just giving the business away to the aftermarket vendors.....
Funny you say that Jim, as I was thinking the same thing. I was figuring out where I could get what I needed and realized I could drop some other items since I was already having to DIY, while I was at it. Shaved a fair amount off the cost too. Jim
It's a further improvement of what Henry Ford started many many years ago.... You can have any color you want, as long as it's black.....
One reason only some options are available on a JCW is because of the up-charge to get the JCW they want those options to be exclusive.
OK, I can see that and understand the thought process behind that, for things like power improvement, suspension and the like. Not sure I understand things like certain interior trim features. On the "S" you can get the red color line, but not the red dash panels. Black seats with white, but not red rim. I know red is faster, but come on. Jim
