Is that because you have a vested interest in S 'n S and the MINI logo is causing confusion for your customers who think they can get their oil changed or because it confused you? The MINI logo is just a hair over 50 years old, not quite as old as S 'n S so if one wants to take on the other for infringement, it could be entertaining at best.
Oh Oh..... BMW / MINI corporate lawyers are suiting up and will be knocking on those doors with cease and desist orders shortly......
I don't believe the current logo predates BMW's ownership (1994). I may be wrong on that, but it certainly doesn't date back anywhere remotely close to 50 years (having spent considerable time around Morris and Austin Minis in the 1960s).
Not sure how far the wing logo goes back. I remember starting to see them on Mini's in the early 90's or when Rover took them over. I'm old so I'm most likely wrong about that.
:cornut: I suppose because Stephen F Austin and Dad Moses Austin's(founding fathers of the Austin Colony and the Republic of Texas) ancestor's and name came from Jolly Old England and some of the ancestors stayed in England to start a Car Company. They came to the Virginia Colony and then to Spanish Missouri before coming to Spanish then Mexican Texas. Hook'em Horns Jason
I'm sure the MINI badge is a BMW invention - they've talked some BS about the centre circle being the Mini speedo. However there is more than a bit of Austin-Healey Sprite in the Mini badge's DNA.
