Not wanting to completely hijack the other thread I thought I'd bring this over here. Not you too MM? Tell me it isn't true!!!! I understand what both of you are saying. I too put a lot of miles on my car, but then I need a car and that is what I bought the MINI to be, my car, so I drive it. Truthfully, it would be very hard not to, as I really love this vehicle. Soooooo, how many folks park their MINI for the winter? Jim
Joys of the southwest. I drive it and race it all year round. I'd probably die if I ever have to "winter" my car.
Sadly mine lives outside too. Needless to say, she did not go anywhere for a few days, but then nobody else did either. Jim
I drive mine & when I wear it out I will buy another & repeat the process. The MINI does very well in the winter when equipped with proper footwear. The car not me. MM Chuck I can drive you around in my MINI if that will help you.
Mine lives outdoors most of the time but I don't drive it when there's winter chemical slop on the road. Fortunately here in southern MD that doesn't happen a lot. Of course if I didn't have an AWD vehicle as a backup the MINI would see all sorts of weather...and it would need some non-summer tires.....
I park my MINI, when the weather is bad. For snowy/icy days, I have a Ford F350 4x4. For fun in the snow, I have a two wheel drive Soviet military motorcycle with a sidecar, nothing stops it! Dave
Mine is a daily driver no matter the weather. It lived outside for the first couple years, but now has a garage to come home to at night.
Daily drive mine and track it too, but when the weather gets bad and the salt goes on the roads, it trades places with the Tahoe and is tucked safe and sound in the back of the garage....
My MINI is a daily driver also. He does get garaged every night though. Just to keep him nice and toasty in these harsh single digit nights.
I wouldn't drive anything else! I have winter tread on The Beast and get back and forth to work with zero worries. I work nights so in the morning, I brush off the snow, turn on the seat warmers and motor on home. Cheers! Chris safe
My 07 is supposed to be the DD, but I can take the 4x4 when snow is deep or roads are crap. The 11 CM will be a daily driver all the time, good or bad roads unless the wife steals the Jeep 4x4. But I can stay home all day.
Mine lives outside see all weather and city parking. I think that a mini with winters is only seconded by a mini with summer tires for fun. I love my mini and i love me some snow. the two together is quite fun. :ihih: -Jonathan
