http://www.outmotoring.com/images/P/MIN_r58_spoiler_md.gif Looks like Aaron has the new coupe spoiler. Know anyone who needs one??
Nice!! Looks to be either part of the factory spoiler or atleast mounted to it.. Guess with this you don't raise the OEM one ( and disconnect the auto feature ) or this might look pretty goofy once raised on an angle!!!
Thanks Jeff, it appears that I can't slip anything past you. The one pictured (the black primered one) is mine and it arrives on Monday. The pop up spoiler is removed entirely and the fixed spoiler mounts in the cavity of the hatch where the pop up is now. I saw one mounted in Mannheim Germany and it really changes the look of the Coupe. I'll be posting installation instructions and photos on Aaron's web site after I complete the installation. With painting and installation time that will be a couple of weeks.
Jim if you remember when Audrey first came out with the TT folks were having high speed crashes with them. The fix was a small spoiler on the tail. They recalled all cars for the fix. So I guess those rear spoilers do something other than look racy.
CHKMINI have you mounted it yet? If so please post pics. This is about the only aftermarket wing that looks like it was made got the model it's meant for! Love it.
Yes. There have been several posts here of it. Im traveling so it will be a couple of days until I can post a pic. Nathan, Chuck, can you post one?
Ok Mark after seeing yours I just bit the bullet. It's getting painted and will be installed this Friday. Now about that splitter!!!!:mad2:
Is a MINI dealer installing it? The Coupe will need retro codes to eliminate the spoiler warning light and the gong. If you need help PM me.
So are you saying they added a warning light and gong to the spoiler too? :mad2: That's just silly. I wish they would add a gong and alert light for dirty Minis. I see lots of very dirty Minis around my area.:lol::lol:
Yea, when the pop up spoiler deploys it has a locking mechanism built into the linkage that sets it in its upward most position. That locking mechanism has a sensor built into the linkage that sends the signal that it is in place. If you drive the Coupe with the spoiler half deployed it lights a warning light and the gong begins. When you remove the pop-up spoiler assembly, which includes the linkage, the sensor is unplugged and instantly sends the signal. As part of the installation, MINI has retrofit programming that removes the sensor signal requirements. Once it's reprogrammed, it works well. Wayne at Group 4 and I were the guinea pigs on this part replacement....what a pain and several weeks of phone calls to get it sorted out. Wayne did a bunch of the work. Now MINI has released a Retrofit Bulletin to solve the issue.ut:
