I set the match up, you pick the winner. This is a challenge cup, so the winner goes on to a bigger foe. I'll try to keep the competition tight.

The stipulation is this: which would you rather have as your only vehicle. It has zero cash value, so it's yours for the foreseeable future. Lobbying is allowed.

    So...Would you rather:

I have a Miata & I'm really happy with it. That being said if it is going to be my daily driver in all weather it is the GTI.

GTI. I'm too tall for a Miata.

The Miata because it's so well built it's still running on its OEM parts including oil. I like the GTI but Meh it's going break long before a Japanese car and the parts for the Miata are damn cheap.

For a year round daily driver I'd have to go with the GTI.

GTI , only because it is the practical choice for an only car! Miata's are loads of fun...Especially with LS motors!

GTI. Bought one as my Daughter's first car some 20 years ago and loved it!

Miata. I've owned two and think they're great.

Still voting for the Miata as I do not need the extra seats since I am not having kids and all my friends own MINI and would rather drive then ride in mine.

I gotta go with the GTI. Everyone expects the Miata to be awesome out of the gate, as far as handling and entertainment factor. The GTI would be close in handling, but lacks the get up and go of the little roadster. So why go for it? Because stock sucks, that's why. The aftermarket base for that little VDub is insane.
