Just thought it'd be interesting to see what everybody's first car was?

Mine as sad as it is to say was an all original 1960 Corvair, w/2spd trans and gas heater. Teal blue color, and of course It was made fun of all through HS.

Hi, Mine was a light blue, 1963 Pontiac Tempest that I bought from my Grandma for $60. I think it had 38,000 miles on it. Big front seat :D

1960 Chevy Biscayne 2 door sedan. 283 4 bbl, three speed Hurst conversion kit floor shifter. Paid my life savings of $350 in 1968. I didn't care about the FRONT SEAT, it had a large REAR SEAT for numerous uses at the drive-in movies:blush2:

1959 Pontiac Catalina 4 door. 383 V8 with an automagic. Front & rear seats were like big sofas. What a tank that car was, it probably is responsible for my conversion to a small car driver.

1973 Alfa Romeo Berlina, started driving it in 1986. It had about 180000 miles on it. I drove it until it had about 260000 miles, then parked it, pulled the Weber carbs, and walked away.

My first car was a 1972 Mini 1000.

Epic rust bucket when I got it, I learned more about welding than driving.

My second car was a 1968 Cooper S.

Then I added a Ford Fiesta to the mix to use as a daily driver while I raced one mini and continued to weld the other one.......

My first car was a 1959 MGA I bought for 300 dollars in 1968. It was really fun to drive when it was not broke. It was broke a lot.

My first car, which I bought in 1971 for $50, was a black 1958 Beetle. It had rusted out heater tubes, which meant I had to scrap ice off the inside of the windows as I drove in the winter. Kept the car for about a year.

1st car was 1950 Olds torpedo body style and within a year got a 1956 j-2 experimental olds engine from wreck involving a train and dropped it in. Had fuel valves welded on to the exhaust and screw off the fuel caps and instant straight pipes. All white paint with white roll and pleat leather upholstery. Was the drag race king of Franklin Blvd in Gastonia NC until went into the military and sold the white elephant.

1967 Camaro. My dad grew up in the 50's, total hot rod kind of guy. He & I did a ton of work on the engine. Bought it stock, save headers, 327 w/ a manual 3 speed. Put in a Muncie tranny immediately, and then, over time, built up the engine, replaced almost everything, carb, cam, manifold, headers, exhaust, posi rear end. Still regret selling it today, bought it in 80 sold it in 84:D
