Right I think I have came across a problem, My auto start stop only kicks in sometimes, it's left on and in my previous cars it stays off until I have hit the clutch but with my mini when it does kill the engine which is very rarely it's staying off for maybe 15 second then starts the engine again, Any help would be great, Billy
I see from your previous posts that you have an R56 Cooper D in the UK. The problem is that this is a U.S. based forum, and there might not be anybody here who has experience with your issues. MINI diesel models are still not available here in the U.S., and the auto start-stop feature was not in U.S. spec until this year with the F56.
No need to leave completely. However. One of the UK based sites may be if more help for your questions. MiniTorque or TotalMini might be a better resource for you tho.
No need to leave at all! There's a lot of knowledge here about the car, just not your particular engine.
Righto! You're more than welcome here, in fact, we'd like to learn about your experiences with that combo. No telling when they'll offer it on this side of the pond.
I had a BMW 328 automatic with the auto start/stop feature. If I was in the city with a lot of stop lights it would auto start/stop at the first couple of red lights then the auto stop would quit and the car would stay running. I think the system will nullify if there are too many start/stops within a short period of time due to battery charge levels. There was a setting on the turn signal stalk to allow start/stop or not.
