Your OK too Dave, but that is not right in my case. I saw an R50 with a five speed and poor MPG. An R56 "S", with no low end torque and poor MPG....

True Dave, but the key word is "WAS". Your R53 will become a classic at some point, there is no doubt, but it will not continue to be a daily...

If ya stop and think a minute, it is only natural for companies to change their design over the years. The original Mini did not and it is gone....
