Had some downtime to dig into installing the bowden cable......til I saw my 5/02 build latch was the old 1 that won't take the cable(funny, I had the holder for the pull under my rear seat):
The updated part should have a slot for the cable head like this:
Saw mine had just a hook for manual opening, so tried tying some fishing line there:
Routed the fishing line thru the right side compartment up the rear RH seat belt hole. The thought here was to be able to access the manual boot release w/o removing the rear seat but still kept stealth.
Tied & secured the line to the rear RH seat latch w/ the rubber cover removed:
w/ rubber latch cover on:
All buttoned up....Not OE, but I won't have to remove my seat in case I need to manually open the boot!
Works like a charm. Hope this can be useful for those who share my fate.
Yeah, bad pics, I know. Apologies!
Thanks again, Canusrufis!

look for section on boot cable 51 24 065. It shows some routing... maybe all you need. Good luck and be patient:fingerscrossed:.-

Hmmmmm, none of the 02 guys on here has done this yet? I've so much faith in MA, I dint even bother asking anywhere else & don't plan to.
Anyone got pics of the boot cable routing? That'll surely help. Thanks, guys.... -

Take that one for a test drive!! -
Thanks, Rawhyde. Either my phone is taking too long or can't open that link. Hmmm.
Now, I'm just praying that my boot latch is the one that can take that cable. This will be tackled the next time I'm bored.
This is another proof M/A always comes thru!!!! Thanks, guys!
