I love a good barn find, but that price is high for a car that is not, at this point, a collectable. And yes, that interior is a bit of a downer. IMO, It is not only a bit brash, but I don't see any connection to the exterior. It looks like the interior came from another car.
If the seller can get that price, I salute him. I wish him nothing but the best. The buyer ain't going to be me.

I wonder what the $4,000.00 at the dealers covered...

You have to wonder what else might be wrong with the car besides the ruined driver's seat and the otherwise awful interior. Just $4000recently spent at the dealer on an '02 with less than 4800 miles on it makes me wonder about how many other things have dried out during driving time lapses over the past 14 years. His asking price is not that great a bargain either, but some sucker will buy it.

I assume all that dried out was replaced. Any questions feel free to reply to the craigslist ad. -

This is timely for me. I had a meeting with my insurance agent and was told the company no longer offered an 'agreed value' on my car and, if it is totaled , I would just get the fair market value. I bought a 'garage queen' 2005 R52 S with 3,648 original miles. It now has 14,500 miles. Very well optioned but it came from Fl. dealership and doesn't have heated seats. Auto. Everything works and have all records. I am asking for opinions, from a knowledgeable source as to what the car is worth.
NO, the car is not for sale ,nor will be. I gave it to my grandson. I am starting a file with low mileage MINI values, should I ever have to make an insurance claim. -
