Welcome to M/A the FUN MINI site.

    M7 is garbage.

You can order the GP IC from Detroit Tuned, Helix or Out motoring.

Aaron at Out motoring is a great guy, so are the others above.

Welcome, thanks for joining Motoring Alliance, the FUN and Friendly MINI Community.

Having used both the M7 and GP, get the GP one.

What do you need the IC for?

^^^ True but like all new MINI owners you want to mod your MINI and the GP IC is the best IC hands down.

Is it the best mod? No
Is it the first Mod I made? No (15% Helix Pulley) <-- best HP back for the buck mod.
Do I have a GP IC? Yes, why because I wanted on one my car "just because."

It is the best IC, no arguments there (and I almost choked when I saw the M7 reference), but it may not be the best first mod, and it may not be necessary at all depending on what else is on the car and what you plan on doing with it. Plus it looks like the price has gone up a bit.

Besides the GP one being the best they were impossible for most to obtain. The few that did guarded their source better than Ollie North hid his sources of money. So there was this "Oh WOW" factor way back then when one popped the hood and there lay the seemingly mythical GP IC.

Just out of curiosity, I was curious what the issues were with M7 products/service. I ask because as a future motoring professional , I want to know where to go and where to avoid. I know that OutMotoring is good and there's a local shop (Ryan Gangemi Motorworks. If you are in the Northern California area, these guys are definitely worth the business), but being someone on a tight budget, every penny and every mod has to count.

M7 products are way overpriced and do not out perform OEM at all. = waste of $

Lets just leave it at that and not get into the dirty details.

    What he said.

You can even take it a step further--some of the M7 products actually perform worse than stock. That arguement can be made for the IC.

And like Dave alluded to, there are some other issues that are probably best left for dead to avoid M7 like a the plague, or at least a very bad case of Herpes.

Dave, you need to make a "YFM" sticker for products such as these that we can stick on them when the owner isn't looking...Be a good tape for the dragon too.

I hear you but it would be better to add Meth over an intercooler.
It will also keep you valves really clean and stop heat soak. :ihih::devil:

I live in the high desert of OR and our temps are in the 90's during the summer and the OEM IC has performed very well. Fast recovery when pushed hard.

It's just an innocent little acronym of one of Dave's favorite sayings that was too priceless to ignore. It really needs to be on a T-shirt.
