I decided to paint the screws.
Now I can't leave a bit of thread showing so I had to paint it as well. I am so glad I build models to have all the needed items for the task.
The stainless screw has 2 small o-rings that will act as a vibration dampener an also help position it centered in the hole and over the button on the Ultra Gauge.
The Ultra Gauge manual page shows the control buttons and why I needed the extra mod to make it work easily reaching a finger around the back without having to move the gauge itself.

I got out the simple green and other cleaning brushes and rags and spent the rest of the day making the engine compartment look as good as the outside of the MINI.I first started to clean it a month ago. And then got side tracked with life. so here it is today. :biggrin5:
Not to bad for a 6 year old MINI with 86K miles and lots of Texas dust!

I missed not having a place to rest my arm on the long drives so I got a MINI arm rest. I bought it on the internet and thought that because it was genuine MINI that it would be perfect. Well the perfect was the easy installation 20 minutes, the comfort another story it was not up to expectations?
The padding was very thin and soft. It did not keep your elbow from bottoming. The lift position does not clear the seats for time you do not want to use the arm rest feature. The padded door is not spring loaded so when you depress the button to open you then need to grab and lift by changing grip positions. If that makes sense? But it does look great. I think I may look around more see what others use and may change mine in the future? For now it will do for the weekend get away with longer then average drives. :biggrin5:

Gotta love the 20 minute mods. It looks pretty there on the engine but to be honest it is another part that I can honestly say I can't feel any difference. :confused5:
But hey it looks "RACE" and sometimes that is all that matters when you pop your hood for spectators.

These took a little longer then expected to install. No direction for one I had to run to the internet to see "How to install" videos. :frown2: Then I had to chase down neighbors to check the brake lights before I set them in place and secured. I was not fast enough to press the brakes and run to the back of the MINI to see if they worked. I think I may be getting old? :nonod:
But I am very happy with how they look! :biggrin5:

Thanks MCS02! :biggrin5:
Today I decided to wash off the underside and rid of all that Texas accumulate dirt from the previous owner. I know it is not super clean yet but it is only the first power wash I have done and more then likely the first time the MINI has ever been cleaned under there? I really need to spend a complete afternoon with a couple gallons of simple green and various size brushes.

Well now I have gone and done it. I bought a custom interface cable so I can keep my factory head unit perhaps add an amp or 2 one for the a sub woofer.
Why do most of us always need BIG dogs?

After taking the wife to work very early this morning I returned home parked the MINI in the street. I went to check the mail and looked back at our house, so had to do the photo moment. Hey I have no dog or kids to take pictures of! LOL

Thank you for the welcome.
I received my Ultra Gauge today and did not like the suction cup to windshield mounting so I am going to make my own mount..
I use an Ultra Gauge in another vehicle and really like the gauge monitoring choices to view and the code reading and clearing capability. Very easy plug-n-play and set up.

So after driving around a day and trying out all 3 settings on the Sprint Booster back and forth on and off I am not sure that I would tell a friend to run out and get one. It did help when I had to stop on a hill and also gave me the sense I had more power even though I am aware it only changed the throttle body position % greater with less foot manipulation.
I did like the LED light colors though.
I think I was maybe expecting a little more. It was fun installing it and testing it on the new MINI, right! :biggrin5:-

:cornut: Don't mind the R53 SC guys, most of them are friendly and understanding of personal preference. I have an '08 MCS/JCW also. You might look me/MINI Margi up to see the mods that I did. Just a suggestion.

well don't I feel a bit
It seems that when we were first looking for a MINI the wife had preferences. She wanted an automatic (not my choice) and RED. So I found a couple of perspective candidates 2008 and red at local dealers. They were over priced and not in the best of shape for the asking price. I also found a really nice privately owned 08 but it was a color the wife called for old people. So when I found the MINI we are driving and own now I had it so stuck in my head 2008. After which everything I did pertaining to it up until this post today was based on my thinking it was a 2008 production model. LOL well it seems that we have a 2009. It was manufactured in 09/2008 but it is a year model 2009?
As far as I can tell it really does not change anything except my user name does not perfectly fit the year MINI we own. :frown2: Sorry everyone for making such an embarrassing mistake.
The original owner sent this to me in the mail today thinking I would like it. To which I really did and that is what started this response about the actual year of our MINI.

The wife said "go get the dent and scratches fixed"! So the MINI is off to the body shop and will be back in a week. I am already feeling the loss of driving it everyday.:cryin:
We bought the MINI with these small body problems.
I was hoping to get a complete paint job but the $....:eek6: maybe next summer. I have other things more immediate safety improving items needing funds allocated for. I talked with the wife about getting drilled and slotted rotors, new tires and wheels as an example. :ihih:-

If my wife comes looking for me I am not here......................:nonod:
I spent a little bit of $$ on the mini this weekend for maintenance purposes.
1200 bagged me these parts. I know some things are questionable if they really work but sometimes it all about looks. :biggrin5:
Approximately 1,800 Miles on Suspension, Wheels & Tires & etc.
+ ST Coilovers (Made by KW)
+ Whiteline 20mm Sway Bar
+ Adjustable End-Links for both front & rear sway-bar connections. {Alta fronts, WMW rear)
+ Kosei K1-Ts 17x7 wheels in 4x100 {= No rub & No spacers!)
+ Pirelli P-Zero Nero XL 205/45R17 mounted
+ New Beru Tire-Pressure Monitor Sensors
+ K&H Performance Intake
+ custom heat-shield
IDK???? what is it?
I have already decided I like a red sway bar instead of the silver.
Maybe I should spray paint my lawn green it might look better?
