I really liked the building. It was another early morning drive and i found it just making a turn here and a turn there.
I missed not having a place to rest my arm on the long drives so I got a MINI arm rest. I bought it on the internet and thought that because it was genuine MINI that it would be perfect. Well the perfect was the easy installation 20 minutes, the comfort another story it was not up to expectations? The padding was very thin and soft. It did not keep your elbow from bottoming. The lift position does not clear the seats for time you do not want to use the arm rest feature. The padded door is not spring loaded so when you depress the button to open you then need to grab and lift by changing grip positions. If that makes sense? But it does look great. I think I may look around more see what others use and may change mine in the future? For now it will do for the weekend get away with longer then average drives. :biggrin5:
I had to repair a headlight adjusting bolt today. When I removed the headlight this sticker was there. I SAY NO!!! Best I could do for the repair. The bolt was crossed thread in the brass keeper/adjuster so I had to drill off the head of the bolt and then cut the reaming to remove it rearward. I could not get a new adjuster in there without taking several more parts off so I improvised. :fingerscrossed:
Gotta love the 20 minute mods. It looks pretty there on the engine but to be honest it is another part that I can honestly say I can't feel any difference. :confused5: But hey it looks "RACE" and sometimes that is all that matters when you pop your hood for spectators.
These took a little longer then expected to install. No direction for one I had to run to the internet to see "How to install" videos. :frown2: Then I had to chase down neighbors to check the brake lights before I set them in place and secured. I was not fast enough to press the brakes and run to the back of the MINI to see if they worked. I think I may be getting old? :nonod: But I am very happy with how they look! :biggrin5:
Thanks MCS02! :biggrin5: Today I decided to wash off the underside and rid of all that Texas accumulate dirt from the previous owner. I know it is not super clean yet but it is only the first power wash I have done and more then likely the first time the MINI has ever been cleaned under there? I really need to spend a complete afternoon with a couple gallons of simple green and various size brushes.
Um ok so I thank we may need to see someone. You and Dave would have got along just fine.:lol: But you missed a spot!
Which member is Dave? Does he have MAOCD ? (Mini Attention Obsessive Cleaning Disorder ) did you really have to tell me I missed a spot...BRB gotta go do another cleaning......
I saw these while shopping around for MINI goodies. Sadly they were out of the RED caps but I did get the black ones. So I just painted them myself. Little painting humor
Finally got the better tires and wheels on today. Yup it really needs to be dropped about 3/4 inch now?
