1-2-3 for Team Octane at Trois-Rivières (Montréal, Québec) –Team Octane had an incredibly successful weekend, for the 43rd edition of the historical Grand-Prix de Trois-Rivières. Michel Sallenbach, Paul Gravel, Adam Isman and Alain Lauzière were all behind the wheel of MINI GENUINE PARTS MINI Cooper race cars for the Trifluvien weekend, which was run under extremely hot and humid weather conditions. They were also joined for this race by local veteran driver Claude Houde. Lauzière, driving the #45 GE Nighthawk JCW Cooper S, was able to pace himself out of traffic as he came out of the pits to put a blistering lap that was good enough for pole position. Sallenbach qualified 5th followed by Adam Isman. Paul Gravel qualified 9th at the wheel of his LDS Dyno/BAM #48 MINI. Race #1 was dominated by the fast Honda of Paul Dargis while Lauzière attempted to mount a late-race charge for the lead but had to reduce his pace as he was dealing with extremely high water temperatures and would bring the Castrol Edge MINI to the second place. Rookie Adam Isman fought hard to deserve a great third finishing position for the rcj.ca Cooper. Michel Sallenbach wound up in sixth after a race where he had to deal with traffic. Paul Gravel would finish in ninth position. During race #2, Lauzière found a great hole at the start and he lead the GE Nighthawk Cooper from the drop of the green flag right to the checkered in a race that saw that would be completed under yellow after a competitor made contact with the wall. Adam Isman would complete the race in 5th position, followed by Sallenbach in sixth. Paul Gravel finished in tenth position. 72 year-old Claude Houde, was happy to have completed his race competitively. The 2012 Canadian Touring Car Championship presented by Continental tire will The Championship competes throughout 8 weekends of racing. Details are available at CTCC: Canadian Touring Car Championship . The CTCC will come back to Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montréal for the Nationwide weekend on August 16-17. P.J. Groenke will rejoin the Team Octane roster and will be joined by Sarah Cattaneo from the USA. Cattaneo finished fourth in the ST point standings of the 2011 Continental/Grand Am Championship and scored her first career ST victory at New Jersey Motorsports Park. She took the pole position for the season finale at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and entered the race with a chance at the ST championship. Alain Lauzière will make his first start behind the wheel of the #8 B-Spec Durabond MINI Cooper for this season.
