Gonna try getting Fiona running in time for this! Anyone interested in coming by and blotting away my tears as I struggle with brake bleeders, un-labeled wiring, and a thousand other things that still need to be done this weekend? Seriously, folks... how often do you get to see a grown man cry?![]()

Yeah, this is too much for me at this time. I'm going to have to say no.

Unfortunately, I'm going to have to stay at school that weekend... So, I'm going be out.

There will be other drives (not sure about this fall). Let me know if any of your S2k friends are interested.
I drove the long route on Friday and will not be using it on 10/11. It felt like to much driving, but I did drive on some fun roads that I will file away for another time and have lunch at a place that I have wanted to try for awhile. I'm going to try and go back out next weekend to look at a shortened route (and check on one of the roads that was closed on Friday). Trying to keep it to around 250 miles. -
Will do! We'll have to merge the groups some other time, if not this year for sure next.
Two groups of great guys with some of the best driving machines on the road

Just to clear up any confusion, this is just a random drive that I set up (not tied to M/A or MoM and as some would point out, I don't even own a MINI anymore). I posted it up here in case people wanted to do a drive and not have to try and put something together. I haven't got a lot of interest on any of the sites I have posted on, but I'm fine with that because I've had fun driving some of the different routes already and saving them off in a spreadsheet for future use.

Crashton Club CoordinatorI agree completely. This has been my experience with doing drives. I end up asking myself why I bothered to do a route & print up instructions.
I guess one could appoint a couple of folks who are capable of reading & following a route as group leaders, but that just seems like too much much work & organisation. My disorganized manner wouldn't let me do that. -
I agree. Most of the routes we take aren't that challenging to navigate and wrong turns are usually pretty evident shortly after they occur. The best thing I ever started doing was just setting my GPS to map view to get some advanced view of upcoming turns (that and taping the route notes to my dash, so I don't have to fumble with the pages).

Yes sir, I love having the GPS on map view. Not quite as good as a co-driver reading a topo map & notes, but it sure does help. :yesnod:
Every missed turn is an opportunity to explore.

Looks like I'll be on this drive too. Thanks for putting it together.

No idea.
I'll ask -
Anyone still want to get together and drive?

The roads will always be there. What are the other events, car stuff folks might enjoy doing too?
