This is definatly going to be an amazing year. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again. Just one one more part to buy and the MC40 is ready. (Well 4 actually), Tires! Just as above have posted, even though there will be alot of people, there is so much to do and so much room it will be hard to meet everyone.

In a typical year, how many MINIs crash the party (i.e., show up and mingle in an unregistered status)?
-
Thats kind of hard to tell since there is no "gate" where people/MINIs are checked and counted.
The MKO group usually does not participate in the registration process. The roads are free, why should I pay is their attitude. But that group is getting smaller and smaller each year. Then you get people in the region that swing by for an afternoon cause it's close. -

6 more and I got it! -
Nathan. Your statement is false. Most of the MKO register and have registered since the start of the MOTD in 2003. 2004 was the first year for vendors as you may recall. As member of the MKO group I do not appreciate false rumors being started. Some of the group as you know or do not know have moved on, as in purchasing other forms of transportation. One who traveled every year from California in her MINI cannot attend this year because of family issues. I have always registered, and god willing, will in the future.
I am not trying to pick a fight, but I do want everybody to know that the MKO is very visible and supportive as the Midnight on the Dragon is the last official event of MOTD, and if you have attended the event, I have introduced myself and ran the event since 2008.
Thank you for your time.

Ok, now I have to ask. What is MKO?
-
Thanks for setting me right...
I'm just going from hearsay so I stand corrected.
Please accept my sincere apologies. -

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but this is what I've been told. MKO is group of folks that were at the first MOTD or Dragon Run as it was called. The name came from what NAM used to be called. It was originally MCO (MINI Coopers Online) until MINIUSA came in and told Mark Ferguson he had to change the name. He choose to go with NAM. So as a pun, they changed the C to a K and named themselves the MKO club. They were very involved in the first few Dragons. MINIclo used to attend from California each year along with Kool MINI from NY, Andrew, Tom (who posted above) and Sndwave (Pat) were some of the other members that I know of.
