You can't go wrong with the Cravens that he stocks and you have to love those delivery sandwiches
-
The Craven pulley is quality for sure, but too heavy IMO. With an Al pulley you can also reduce your rotating mass, every little bit helps.
-
Ahh the great pulley weight debate...
Lighter will spool up nano-seconds faster using less HP to spin.
Heavier is more stable and helps to dampen vibrations some
The degree that these things are effected are so small that only the most OCD person that is finely tuned and in touch with each and bit of the car will even notice them.
You can't go wrong with a Craven, WMW, Detroit Tuned or Helix pulley. All are well made and will last forever. -
Yeah yeah, I know............
While I am somewhat OC, I do not not consider it a D, thank you very much. And I am sure I could not tell the difference between Al an SST. Sometimes we do things that are good/better, even if just in theory. -
I have a 17% Alta Pulley and Love it! Pulls So hard! With Alta 17% Pulley, Napa 535 Belt, Tens Stop, Alta Cai/Silicone Tube, MSD Ignition Coil, JCW Plugs, Kingsborne Plug Wires, Magnaflow custom exhaust, and DTBPV I make 17psi and it def pulls harder
-
Go with the 15%,althier for your s/c while giving u more power, end of story in opinion, jcw pulley is indeed 11-12%. A retune would allow u to maximize its use of course, but i am wondering how much difference it would actually make, let us know if u do

Well, I went to see Danny this weekend. Went something like this:
Me: Sup you long haired Armenian
Him: Sup, you crazy Russian
Me: Put a 15% pulley on
Him: Go with 17%
Me: I don't want a 17, I want a 15
Him: There is no sense to go from 12 to 15. I get more by going to 17.
Me: But I rev too high and Nate said 17 is not good for that
Him: blah blah blah 17
Me: But I want to retain street drivability for the wife
Him: blah blah blah 17
This went on for a few hours and continued late into the night over some beers, pizza and sandwiches. I still have the JCW pulley on. What now? -
Sounds like a good day at Danny's. Little Ceasers and Armenian Tortas
. If you put a 17% on the car it will be alright. We have the 17% because we have the bigger valve head and the GP intercooler to counter the increased heat that occurs. Jan will just dial back your rev limit when you get it re-tuned. He dropped ours from 8000 rpm to 7200 rpm to counter the increased rotation after we had it installed. I must say i do miss the car screamin like a banshee at 7900 rpm.

Hey go with the 17% ! I love mine.

Compromise, get the M7 16%.

Nate has the perfect solution.

I've got an aluminum 15% we found in a display box. Maybe you could make both Danny and Jan mad at once. I don't know about Nate, but I might be OCD enough to notice the speed spooling action.

The JCW pulley is the best size SC overdrive pulley. Keep you money in your pocket or get an NS1 camshaft. An NS1 will provide more gain than the difference between the 11.45% reduction JCW and any smaller pulley.
