I tested my 15x8's on a 07 R56 S: The wheel appeared to fit although you would need to open up the lug holes for the 14mm lug bolts if that's what you run.

Wait a minute...maybe I answered incorrectly....are we talking R56 S (same as R53 JCW) brakes or are we talking R56 S JCW here?
Jason -
I was referring to R65 S brakes on a R53 (same as R53 JCW kit)
15" hollies are already really close to my standard R53 brakes but I am looking to go to something larger yet OEM for time attack, was there much clearance if any when you tested the 949 15"s on the R56S? -
In that case...yes, they will fit, much more clearance than holies. It's been a few years, but from what I remember, there seemed to be a safe amount of caliper clearance to the R56S calipers. You might need a low profile wheel weight, but to be honest, I can't remember exactly.

Shee's this is the best thread ever!!
All the questions I had are here. Guess, it the nearly same situ for Enkie PF01s 15x8 and 35 offset. -

Just throwing these out there:
R56 front rotors:
15x8 et36 6uls, NO spacer. The fit is perfect IMO.
-
Those wheels look very familiar....... :^)
RR wheel, it definitely pokes a little more than the front due to the 5mm spacer required to clear the trailing arm. Ok, actually I maybe could have gotten away with a 3mm.
Trying to show the spacer installed in this second pic.
And this third pic is of the RF obviously.
Trying the new Tapatalk features in uploading pics from the photo album, hope it works. -

Well since I own this post anyway............
Hmm, it looks like the new Tapatalk advanced feature works, even though it gives you are error.
My car is lowered about 0.75", so these smaller diameter wheels definitely have some wheel gap, but for track purposes, they are perfect, at least for me.
The rears with 5mm spacers required some longer lug bolts, but moving forward I will get studs. -
I love you'se wheels guys!!
I just found some on craigslist what does 1st gen mean in terms of referencing 949 6ULs? What are the differences between 1st and 2nd gen wheels? They are black centers with machined lips. -

I was actually able to get away w/o the spacer in the rear. Difference in molding of trailing arms i suppose. Without the spacer though, i can NOT use hammer on weights on the inside, like it is commonly done. Doesnt effect me at all, but good info to have.
mini_racer, looks like our cars are almost visual twins lol. DS w/ Nickel 6ul's. Ive had mine for a little over a year now, and freakin love them! W/ the correct tire, the wheel gap isnt bad at all. The above photo has my front roughly 1.5" down, and with a 225/50-15 tire (24"ish tall). -
You are definitely one of the lucky ones that do not need the spacers, I have read that some cars just don't need them and your car proves it.
My tires are Hankook RS3s in 225/45-15, a little smaller in diameter and so a little more gap.
What studs do you have and how long are they? I am going to have to move to studs one day.
Yeah those Nickel finish wheels look pretty damn good with DS. -

Turnermotorsports are the way to go IMO. More costly, but hands the best option out there w/o drilling out your hubs for a press in stud. -

I think that someone makes a real stud kit for these wheels in a 14mm, if your going to go to the trouble of drilling it out why not buy a set of real racing studs with a porsche lug nut pitch to make it easier to find the nuts vs the mini's strange pitch.

Thanks guys, I think I'll pass on them and wait for some 2nd Gen wheels. I really like the look of the Black Center with the Machined Lip though.

Problem with m14 is you lose A LOT of wheel choice's. Many wheels only have clearance for a m12 stud, the 6uls being one of them... If i were to go through the trouble of drilling the hubs out, i would look in the direction of either the Hondas, or Camaro/Vette (both giving you a m12x1.5), both of which have a MUCH larger aftermarket then the Porches.
TMS are the only ones i have seen last for long periods of time. All others end up corroding and become dangerous over a short period of time. aganger has had a set of TMS Studs for a few years, and they still look good w/ no corrosion at all. Helix, TSW, MINIMania, all those corrode easily looking nasty, and giving issue with nut engagment. So, buy once, buy TMS.
