*Yokohama Advan RG II in 16x8 et38
*Rota Slipstream in 16x8 with et's in 20, 34, or 48
I also wished 949 made a 16x8 that cleared some good size brakes.

would the 48 work better than 38? thanks

I have the 48s (Rota Slips in 16 x 8) and need to use spacers in the rear or they bind (on the trailing arm?) -- can't remember the spacer size but I think it's just 3 or 5 mm. I assume the problem you might have with the 34s or 38s is clearance the other direction (btwn tire and liner) but at least with the 48s you have the flexibility to adjust outward using spacers as needed.

How wide are you planning on going with the tires? 38 may be perfect unless you're planning on going really wide with the tires.

215-225... for now i'm leaning towards the rpf1's with the 38 and might go with 215/45. i suppose the rb 16x8 20et won't work with 215/45 with a lowered car?

Are we talking Rally-low
or just lowered a bit?

i wish i can roll that low, but the highway and city roads here are terrible. i forgot how low i set it, but i can't get over speedbumps and most driveways. maybe 225/45/15 is the safer bet? i think the only bbk to fit that would be the wilwood 11.75? the gearing would be too low with the 15's though...

If you're that low my fave (225/45-16) might not fit.....they might, I'm just assuming things get tighter the further you drop. I haven't tried anything at your ride height though so hopefully someone who actually has useful info will chime in soon.
The Wilwood is not the only BBK that will fit behind 15s, but you'll find that any kit that fits some 15s will not fit all 15s.....wheel selection may be quite limited. Check out TSW's LDM kit as well. -

Do you run any negative camber? Camber up front?
You're right, you'll have fitment issues trying to run 215's or 225's on et20's.
I still think you should be in good shape with et38. -
i run -1.6 in the front... maybe going to -1.8 but on my canyon drives -1.6 looks about even wear. hmm... i might as well put the 215/45 on my current 16x7's. looks like i'll go with 15x8's eventually as going with the 215/45/16 kumho xs can be put on my current ones. but the hankook rs3's look promising for 225/45/15
