    Maxwell, Trinkler Fastest in Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Sessions

    After completing only three laps during Thursday morning practice, Scott Maxwell and Joe Foster came back in the afternoon practice to set the fastest lap of the day in Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Grand Sport (GS) competition.

    Maxwell set a time of 1:36.835 (85.506 mph) in the No. 15 Multimatic Motorsports/Bayshore Recycling Ford Mustang Boss 302R, more than a half second quicker than the Multimatic Motorsports team's closest competitor from the Rehagen Racing camp. Maxwell and Foster won the 2008 edition of the Barber 200 when they drove for Hyper Sport.

    Defending series champion Ken Wilden and rookie Ryan Winchester were second in the No. 59 Rehagen Racing Products Ford Mustang GT with a time of 1:37.413 (84.999 mph). Fords have won the last two GS races at Barber.

    In the Street Tuner (GS) class, RSR Motorsports driver Owen Trinkler topped the charts in morning session with a time of 1:42.049 (81.137 mph). Trinkler and team owner Randy Smalley drive the No. 196 Cruise America/4 Winds RV Mini Cooper. Second in ST were 2007 co-winner Jamie Holtom and Andrew Danyliw in the No. 21 Sick Kids Foundation/C&P Cross Border Law Chevrolet Cobalt, with a time of 1:42.272 (80.961 mph).
