To each their own Dave.O but if you think those 17's look better than those 19's you're bananas. It's bigger, wider & the concaving is much better. You see I'm going for a cooler, more dramatic look. Like these cars. [IMG]

im pretty much a stance guy when It comes to mini's. ive run some super wide 17's and had to cut away some stuff to do so. the biggest I would run would be an 18. if you can pull of some 19's the power to you.

I believe the smallest safe adapter available is 18mm. ive run 18, 20, 25, and 30mm at some point in my build. they are not something I would go cheap on especially with running such a large wheel

Dave.0 has OPINIONS. You can ignore them or not as you wish. :)

It's all good. He won't be genuinely offended, and neither should you. ;)

The adopters are $200 for a set & they're billet. I was actually thinking of going 25mm instead of 18mm for strength reasons. It might be in my head but whatever. As far as Dave.O & I being offended, it takes a lot to offend me. In fact it seems like more people was offended when I posted my photoshopped pic.

I had 18"s on my R53. I loved the way they looked. I didn't love the way they handled or road. The MINI, at least the R53 and R56, will handle and ride better on the 17"s. The increase side wall height absorbs impacts and has more movement to keep the tread on the road. Race cars have real low profile set ups but they don't run on bumpy back roads like we do.

Hey that photoshop was done in 5 mins on my phone. Cut me a little slack. lol. As far as the 18's, I guess I'm just fortunate and find it no different than run flat 17's. [IMG]

I'd like to see the 19s actually fit. My R56 has the OEM 16" S-Winders. Many people don't like seeing wheels with sidewalls the size of truck tires on Minis, but its comfy. lol

Also it appears all 4 of these Mini's are lowered. I'm not lowering mine because I'm adding a carbon fiber splitter which is about 2 inches thick. I don't want to jack that up.

Here I found this pic on the humble. This is the look I'm going for. Now this is a nice sitting Mini. Some of you need to start expanding your ideas on what you can do to a Mini. There's more room than you think. [IMG]

I like being stuck in my ways with a myopic view! This is personal preference, the only person that has to like them is you. post the pictures when your done with your car I would like to see them.

Your MINI is not any of the cars above. 19's on a MINI look stupid unless you are going for a STANCE look which is a parked car that looks like pile of crap and not worth a crap.:lol:

If that's the look you are going for M/A is not the site you should be on.

You should be on M|u = Motoring Underground.

    First to each their own.
Second to "me" all of those Minis look good & a whole lot more interesting than yours. I mean it appears you're more offended by the word 19 than the actual look of 19" rims. I think 17" rims look wimpy & like you're driving a toy. Bigger, wider rims look good on any vehicle including Minis not to mention they increase the car's performance especially on a track. Now of course some rims look better than others & that's why I chose those rims. Now here's another photoshop job I've pulled off last night off even though I was crazy tired, it shows what I want to come close to. It's not perfect but it's a good depiction. I want it to be unique, seriously aggressive & have a polished euro tuned look like a BMW or a Porsche. Along with the business aspect on why I'm buying the car in the first place would basically make this car the only one in the world & unforgettable. So sorry I'm not going for your boy racer look but I need something way more eye catching. [IMG]
