Based on build date, the early 02 builds will not have an aux function.
The radio won't show "aux" unless there is a jack installed it will only cycle through the available options until you install the harness.
Check your drivers door jam for the build date.

I picked one up off of eBay for $6.xx shipped from China. Felt around behind the radio and found the port, plugged it in, turned the radio to Aux and had George Strait piping from my iPhone through my speaker in less than five minutes... Thanks for the help!

Something must have gone terribly wrong. Why would the Aux port play such bad music? Thats what happens when you buy parts from China.

Ok here you go!

That's a common and known problem. You need to use a ground loop isolator between your device and aux input:

I of course pulled the whole center apart. If you were really able to get it in there with out taking anything apart I feel like a real dummy. The one odd thing about mine is that if I have whatever device connected to the aux input and charging at the same time, aux will not be an input option.
Anyone else experience this? -

That explains a lot I have electrical noise coming from my speakers sometimes. I also have it when I plug the phone in to the radio at home. There it happens when I get a data feed. I think this may solve both problems.
