After years of fond memories, I have decided to sell "Sprog II", my Union Jack painted 2003 Mini Cooper S. Many of you may have seen it at the Dragon. This is on ebay at: Mini : Cooper S The Mini started life as an all Indi Blue MCS, and I painted it in the summer of 2003. I have meticulously maintained the paintwork ever since. It has been driven for a few winters, but has been garaged every winter since the winter of 2008. I have done extensive modifications to the car, though I do not know its exact horsepower. I am estimating that it is around 200-210 at the crank. Performance Modifications: 15% reduction supercharger pulley 2% Lightweight crank pulley Spec Stage 1 clutch Spec lightweight flywheel Magnaflow cat-back exhaust Screamin' Daemon coil pack Iridium plugs Larger plug wires Alta Cold Air Intake (has non-Alta UNI-type filter installed at the moment) Brand new (under 200 miles on them) 17" Hankook Ventus K12 Evo 110 tires Excel 10 spoke rims (gunmetal) H & R springs (blue - 30mm lowering) Alta 22mm anti sway bar (red) Hawk HPS brake pads Stainless braided brake lines Powerslot brake rotors High temp brake fluid Interior: Black gauge faces with blue backlighting Voltage and Boost meters mounted with tachometer Shroth harness (Driver side) iPod interface Other modifications: Black mesh "Aero" grille. Yellow highbeam bulbs Two Alta driving lights on a light bar (photo shows 4, I removed 2 in order to keep it legal) Factory options: Cold Weather package: Heated seats, washer nozzles and mirrors Lapis Blue leather interior Blue leather shift knob Harman Kardan stereo Xenon headlamps with washers Automatic Climate control DSC traction control Front & Rear fog lamps (with 6 toggle switches!) I have serviced this car regularly (always at the dealership), oil changes ranged between every 5,000 and 10,000 miles (factory recommendation is 15,000). Mileage is about 50/50 between city and highway. Despite the modifications, it still gets excellent gas mileage, I have no trouble pulling over 34 on the highway and 24 around town. It has a brand new set of tires (listed above), along with a 15" spare that I will include with the car. I will also include a bit for the lug bolts used on the Excel wheels. I do still also have the factory lug bolts. I also still have the original exhaust, and I believe the original intake is still around. The car has been an absolute pleasure to drive, but selling it will help me eliminate a monthly payment and help pay off some debt, which currently outweighs my desire to keep it. I'd love to see it go to a new home with someone else that will be able to enjoy it for years to come. Driving this car is an experience unlike what can be found in other Minis. It always attracts smiles, waves, and I frequently find myself being photographed and even videotaped while driving. It has been to a number of British Car shows, and has won a fair amount of awards at them. Opening bid on eBay is $8950. You may contact me at here via PM or 330-524-2800. I can take more photos by request via e-mail. Note: I do still owe $5474 on this car, and it will have to be paid off before the title is released by the bank (US Bank). Payment will need to be via cash or official check, and then the title will be released a few days later once the loan is paid off. I will then take it to the title bureau and have a clear title reissued for it.
Sorry to see this happen, Jeremy. :cryin: I guess all good things must come to an end, though. I'll miss seeing you, Miniclo, Chad, Ryephile, Sndwave, Koolmini and others all in a pack...blasting thru the Dragon...as if the Devil himself was chasing you!
Yeah, it's sad to see it go, but I'm sure it will find a good home and be treated well by its next owner. I'll still do the dragon in the future, gonna try to go there next October if I have a new car by then. And thanks, Mike.
Wow. Parting with Sprog II. Wow. And those forum names. I remember them from bygone days. The cycle of life I guess. Wow. ....Les
nice car. nicer yet to see you posting, Jeremy. I still have my MC, but bought an MCS to go Dragonslaying with, as well as take to the track.
That is a fantastic value for mods listed, not to mention just being a bad ass MINI. Sorry for your loss, but GLWS!
Always loved the Welshman car, glad you kept it too. Such a great color! And thanks Tat, I probably have over $40k in the car from when it was new, so I like to think I'm asking a fair price.
Thanks, Jeremy. Yeah, that Silk Green Welsh MINI is one of a kind, with its emerald interior, green/black leather seating, and white wheels/mirrors/sunroof surround. I'd drive it more, but it's got that CVT which I DO NOT want to replace anytime soon, if ever. So now, I just mainly take it to shows...although it went Dragonslaying at MOTD '09 [old habits die hard, ya know].
Oy, I can't imagine how much one of those CVT's costs to replace! Good idea to keep it nice, 'cos you know that will be a collector car in 20 years, especially with the rare color schemes! Less than 2 days left on my auction. Crossing fingers. Reserve is $12,000, if any of you are bidding on it and wanted to know.
I've never had a problem with the MC and its CVT, and pretty much drove it hard when I first got it. I took it to the Dragon in '04 when I first met you, and it's been there a few times since, as well as to a coupla Phil Wicks 2-day HPDEs. However, now that I know of the problems CVTs have, I don't do much twisty driving in it anymore. The MCSa is for that...
Yeah, I got tired of trying to keep up with you S guys! The twisties were OK, but on the straightaways...forget it!
