Which is pretty impressive given that 16 years ago I purchased a like-new... well... actually-new R53 for $28k.
To follow up on the above non-JC, here's a 10k mile 2006 JCW convertible. Another time capsule, and depending on bidder interest in ragtops, this may go $15k or better. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2006-mini-cooper-jcw-7/
Thats a nice car. I like the color. The only thing is the pictures of the front has rock damage. If you can see it in a picture I am sure there may be more. With only 10K I am surprised it has that much.
I always find it amazing that such fun cars show up with such low mileage. It’s super clean, it’s a soft top and it’s a hot summer which should make it a desirable ride for a number of folks. It’ll be fun watching the bidding unfold on this beautiful R52.
MINI front ends are stone magnets, as evidenced by my wife's '06 MCS. On the other hand, my '03 MC and '06 MCS both have clear bras on the front ends and, consequently, no rock damage.
Stone chips or not it's a nice car. Clear bra is nice, but they do turn yellow after time. Easy fix justa replace it. Stone chips never really bothered me, well except that first one. That one really stung. Lee the colour is Bavarian Racing Green.
I had planned to put it on my MINI. Within a week I already had a couple of stone chips. I said screw it & skipped putting the clear film on there. Over the years I had big fun with a paint pen playing hide the latest series of stone chips.
you just have to love the uninformed comments on BAT. "Has the water pump been changed?" "Cars under 2015 had water pump failures with engines seizing up." Or maybe he's trying to have potential bidders look the other way and find something that doesn't have the "engine seize up" - you know 10k miles can be hard on a that little car
Maybe they are confusing this MINI with a GTI. Water pumps failing is a common occurrence. Had one done on mine, happily paid for by VW. Never had a water pump failure on my R53 in 120,000 miles. Babs R55 Justa Clubster is sporting a new Jarvic 7.
Less than ten minutes to go and the bidding is at $13,750. It appears that someone is going to get a beautiful R52 for a super reasonable price.
Bidding went crazy and the auction went six minutes longer than originally posted. The R52 went for $23,000.
The Gen 2 cars have a problem with the vacuum pumps locking up. That locks the cam then it’s new engine time. Maybe that’s what that guy was thinking about
