I've never seen this style [raised plastic with a sticky back] on sun visors before, but I HAVE put them on the exterior of my cars.
With less than seven hours to go the 6700 mile GP2 bidding is at $23,000. The car has been kept in a climate controlled garage and is spotless so I would expect the last half hour of bidding to be extremely brisk.
Now on BaT a 2004 MCS MC40 with 11,000 miles. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2004-mini-cooper-s-mc40-15/
The car is a beautiful 2004 11,000 mile R53 which just happens to be a MC40. If someone is looking for a modded car this isn’t going to be their cup of tea but if’n someone is looking for a sharp stock MC40 or R53 this is going to be right up their alley.
We all have different tastes. To my old eyes this R53 looks like a very good one. I bet it brings a good amount of bucks.
With four days of bidding to go the exceptionally clean MC40 is at $12,500. I would expect this pristine example to go for over $20,000.
that MC40 at over 20k would be the first non-JCW or GP to go over 20k. I don't think it'll make it that high, but I generally have been guessing too low.
I actually guessed a bit higher at 20k only because cars have been going for more than I thought they would and this is a unique model.
I'm honestly amazed to see the MC40 go for more than a normal R53. Back when they were new my local dealership had 2 of 'em on the lot that sat there for over 1/2 a year because nobody wanted to pay the premium for some CF bits and red seat covers that didn't fit so well (they are seat covers, applied over black/grey space cloth). When I was at the dealership with my wife one day, she saw one and went walking straight for it. She said "Ooooh! Look at the red one with the stickers! That's kinda coo... Hey... what happened to the seats? Why do they look like that?"
Our local dealer also had an MC40 that sat on the lot for quite a while. As I recall one of the sales guys told me they had to add the JCW kit & remove the stickers to get anyone interested. He also said the lack of cruise control put people off. Time moves on & now they are special.
With just under four of bidding left the MC40 is languishing at $12,500. It would appear that the early interest has not continued.
