A GP2 with 26,000 miles sold $26,500 on BaT today. That might have been the third one to sell in the last couple of weeks.
WTF? 17k and the MC40 didn't hit reserve? Someone thinks a bit too much of their MCS with a few dress-up bits.
I'm surprised it didn't sell for that. Guess he'll sit on it for a few more years while it wildly appreciates in value. If that was my car I'd remove all that decal pollution & get a set made up to keep on the shelf.
Not a fan of all the decals/stickers but it only has 30,000 miles and is being sold by Geneva Motor Cars who seem to specialize in some great MINI’s.
Not sure what’s up with the link, but it looks like the 14 mile GP is back up for sale a few years later with around 4,700 miles for $49,500. The listing pops up for a second, then goes to an error screen. https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicledetails.xhtml?listingId=606300402&LNX=MYATCALERTSEMLSRCH&fbclid=IwAR36ryj1qDZtDbdfXG7sV3UpbNK8C9QzDsxRu3tdjBw7zByh-w4pTiSJBnU
Those stickers on that GP can be removed. I'm sure not a fan of stickers either. I wonder why the dealer didn't remove them?
Someone commented that some decals had been taken off recently and no ghosting was present but until you see it done you cannot be absolutely certain. Since it was recently sold for $25K that’s going to be a pretty stiff ante to only find out that you guessed wrong. The only good thing is that there is no reserve and maybe the bidding won’t be as high this time.
The stickered GP has a little over fifteen hours left and is now at $14,000. The car only has 30,000 miles but is not as clean as one would think. The stickers are a point of contention with some folks, along with a lot of stone chips in the paint and the undercarriage is not in as good shape as a number of MINI’s being sold on BaT. I doubt it brings in what it sold for back in 2020.
I was able look at the auction when it was at $22K and like you felt it was just to much for a car that looked like it was rode hard and put up wet as the horse people say.
Here you go, there's another one, this with 68k miles - #1952, looks stock and well taken care of. Maybe 25k? Probably more in this market. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2006-mini-gp-47/
and it continues on BAT with this 62k mile example. I think $24k is possible again https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2006-mini-gp-38/ some dumb comments as usual. Some guy thinks the rear seats were modified and he wants to go back to a rear seat and needs the instructions
The interesting things about the GP rear seats is that the job was professional shop, the workmanship looks top notch, all the original pieces from GP were saved and it can be put back to the original configuration. I get it that doing this isn’t everyone’s cup of tea and if’n it couldn’t be reverted back to original condition it would be a shame but MINI’s lend themselves to each individuals vision and that’s what makes so much fun even for dingbats.
Since it can be reversed & original parts were saved I see no harm. I question the mod, but different strokes as they say.
