Yeah but I would worry about unknown water damage from being in a hurricane/ flood area. Electrical/ electronic issues suck.
That would concern me too. I wouldn't tackle a potential problem like that, but I'm sure other's more knowledgeable than I could pull it off. If that car could talk I bet it has a story to tell.
Surprised bidding even went that high. I wouldn't touch that car. remotely related - how not to sell your car on Craigslist: https://jalopnik.com/this-is-not-a-great-way-to-sell-your-vehicle-on-craigsl-1830805263

Time will tell. I need to drive a gen 1 GP. I can say mine is a hoot and last I checked the prices on the GP2 seemed to be stabilizing. Plus it appears it will be the last version with a manual.
The problems with the GP 2 are: It’s not a one off color. Thunder Blue was only used on the GP. Tje GP 2 was made by BMW and not done correctly by another company in Italy. And the most important thing, it’s not a 1st gen. Meaning it was the first of the modern MINI’s performance cars and that makes it more “special” than any copies made by BMW for later Generations.
