I think Jehovah's Witness' might be a bit miffed at getting wrapped.

According to the Internet Slang Dictionary J DUB means "Jehovah's Witness"

Those are decent, but still can leave lint...

I use a $#|+ load of them when I paint, but I always follow up with a tac-rag which collects EVERYTHING!

I did a light sanding, then cleaned in tsp.
Sprayed an adhesion promoter, then the white. Will follow with a matte clear coat.

Ok! I was trying to use a smaller compressor that I had in the garage to paint.
No dice. Just would not spray nice.
So I went to the city and picked up this.

Worked great! Very happy. Funny thing is, this puts out 5.5 cfm@90 psi.

I have on board air on my jeep. Engine driven compressor.
    It puts out 8cfm@100psi !!

I got the first coat done. Tomorrow second coat.

it's really not that bad. Like Dave.0 said, just mask off the red lens and prep the chrome bit for painting. Then some generous amounts of RTV sealant to put them back together. Hardest part is cutting them open nicely.

If you dont want your old lights, I would say send them my way... I can always use spare parts, and you never know who else might need them.
You're in the great white north, where there are illegal Americans contaminating your country though, so shipping would probably suck. :)

    Never heard of them...

Most of your automotive paint shops have a pre mixed matte clear, or you can get a flattening additive.

Still not sure why you dont just use a base/clear instead of a clear over a single stage? Base color is cheapish, the stuff I use (after all my discounts normally 50% off of sticker) is only $20 for a half pint, and you would have leftovers! The clear is the expensive part... $175 a gallon for the one I use (my cost) and another $40 for a quart of flattener...

Sherwin actually has a good matte clear, not sure on price, and you may be able to find it in smaller quantities. (probably see if you can find it in a quart+pint of hardener.)

I actually quit spraying when I left Ft. Campbell, until I started on the Rat-MINI... Its amazing how it all comes back to you, when you get back into it. ;)

Think I might start airbrushing again this summer if I can get the equipment, haven't done any of that since highschool!

So.. After spending way too much to try and paint the interior bits...
Ive packed them up and sent them on the bus for a 4 hour ride... Going to a friend that owns a body shop. Told me he will paint everything for $150..:mad2::mad5:

Thats bloody cheap. Oh well. Allows me to start on the audio build.

FYI. Matte white gets dirty.. so easily.

I see lots of fiberglass in your future!

You know that if you use dryer sheets in the shower, it pulls out the spores and stops the itching right?

    Updates.

The j dub is at the dealer, having the cruise programmed. Everything working fine!!

    Here's the breakdown.

I bought a used cruise column. Stole the clock spring and cruise buttons. $125.

Purchased the harness from the dealer $100

I installed the clock spring and buttons.

The dealer quoted me $300 to program.
But only $500 total to install the harness and program. So I just let them do the harness too.

They spent about 12 hours on the job, but are charging me for 5. Which works out to $800.

( when I pick it up, I might argue a bit about about the quote vs actual charge. There's a law here where dealers can only be 10% over quote, but hey, I have been there, and I know how it is)

I'm fine with that. I would have sold the car, if I couldn't have fitted cruise.
