colour breakdown (mini2 poster as source?). ok well i stumbled upon an alleged breakdown of the colours and options for our JCW CE's on the UK sister site: MINI kept four units, and 2 are CR, 1 HB and 1 AB. All have cloth interiors and Alloy Patina dash. Of the sixty in dealers hands; Astro Black - 26 Units, Chili Red - 23, Hyper Blue - 11 Leatherette - 55, Cloth - 5 Premium Package - 58, No Premium - 2
Too late. On order already. 18's, sports suspension, run flats.... This thing is gonna ride like a caddy! The 17's will have studded tires mounted for winter.
No. It won't. But it will keep the kidney stones at bay, and your dentist's garage full toys by rattling the fillings out of your face.
I think it was sarcasm. Nice R53 JCW. Keep the salt cleaned off so it will last a long time. Nathan, thanks for the description. It saved me from searching for it. :cornut:
I can't decide what to do with the exterior. The paint is really dull. Not faded, but just... Flat. I either cut and polish it.... Or wrap it in flat white....
Sorry but 18's will make the car ride harsh plus you are loosing power by spinning those large rims and tires. (Un sprung weight) As for the paint, even if you wrap it you want to make sure the paint is clean. I would have it professionally detailed unless you are good at wet sanding and polishing with a wool pad with heavy cutting cream on a rotary buffer. If you have never buffed a car with a wool pad on a rotary buffer you can burn right through the clear and base coats very quickly.
Wool pad with heavy cutting cream………Some times you scare me Dave. By the way maybe you can fix the mess I made of my hood when I wet sanded it.:frown2::lol:
Nice car, and way to go getting a MINI in Manitoba. If you're serious about the flat white, I have more than enough 3m 1080 matte white to do a MINI which I want to get rid of. Smokin' deal if you're interested. PM me or call the shop.
Yes but that does not mean they are any good and runflats are known as run rocks for a reason. Smaller rims with real, non run rock tires will ride much better.
Anything I put on, can come off without a hassle. I bought it to enjoy and drive. The fact that it turned out to be a CE.... Was just a fluke. Like everyone says, it's just a sticker on the tach... Right?
18's are huge... Run-rocks suck... And vinyl is just an excuse people who cant take care of their paint use... My suggestion: stick with a 16" wheel or a 17 at max, put on some good performance tires, and pay somebody who knows what they are doing to bring the paint back from the dead. You will be more happy in the end, and maintain the rarity of your 1-of-60 MINI.
