I might suggest that 17' might be the size to run...
I RARELY see a GP (the us version of what you have) running with the factory 18' rims...the ride was just too bad...folks sometimes run them as summer rims, but even then, one pothole, or bad railroad crossing, and you need a new rim/tire.....
Its your car...wrap it if you want...might actually protect the paint below....cars are made to be used, have fun!!

Yeah, 18's on the 1st Gen MINI don't work well. It may have been an option from MINI, however; not a well advised one unless one lives where all roads are billiard table smooth. Add run flats to that equation and you might as well be riding on Flintstone Wheels.

You realize, the difference between the 18's and 17's is less than half an inch of rubber...

The wrap was simply for a colour change. Not a big fan of the blue-black.

There's also only about a pound difference between the 17's and 18's.

Depends on the tire size you run... but it does make a BIG difference.

Because you haven't seen it polished up right. It is an excellent color after a good polish in the sunlight.

Might I suggest that you do a bit of research and ask some questions about this special edition model. You may come to appreciate it for what it truly is and may choose to forego some of your mod ideas... It may be some of the best time you can spend as a new MINI owner.

    Just my .02.

I thought this was the fun! Site.....
All that's been done is trash my ideas.

I have read everything on the CE model.

It shouldn't matter to you, what wheels I put on, or what colour it is. The wheels can come off, and the wrap can be removed.

    This is the fun site....

Just got members that are a little opinionated.... David 0. has a red MINI..... and he wishes it was Dark Silver like mine...

Mod your MINI the way you want...

But whatever you do don't wrap it in white.... The snowplow guy will think it's a drift...

We are friendly but we are not afraid of giving our opinion, don't take it wrong.

By the way my opinion is the only one that is correct. :D

This is a FUN site we all just pick on each other from time to time. It's like a big dysfunctional family with us old timers. We all mean well, we just rib each other a little hard from time to time.

You will get the hang of it soon, just stick around and join in, it's all in FUN.

FYI ~ If I did not have the best color already (Chili Red) I would have a Liquid Silver MINI. :ihih::lol::lol::devil::crazy:

    No worries.

I'm going to start with the cut and polish. Then see what she looks like.

Oh and btw. Pepper white with hot chocolate interior is the most beautiful thing.

I tried to buy an 09 jcw clubman, in Chicago before I found this. They wanted too much.

As for 18's on your MINI we are all just trying to save you some money and a very harsh ride that all.

That's one inch makes a huge difference. Wait that just sound like a "that's what she said" joke.

I think I have the best MINI color ever made!

No not the Midnight Grey on the porker! I'm talking the:

White Silver, Pure Silver, Silk Green, Laguna Green, Kite Blue, Oxygen blue, and Astro Black, with shades of primer and rust that make up the exterior of Isobell! :D

:Edit: I forgot there is some Pepper White on the body too... And the Spice Orange under the hood.
